Biography

Dr. Mueller started his role with Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2023 as an Adjunct Instructor where he teaches Medical Spanish in Pharmacy I, Medical Spanish in Pharmacy II, and Cultural Considerations of Care as part of the Medical Spanish Concentration. Dr. Mueller also serves as an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and practices as a clinical pharmacist specializing in internal medicine at Ascension St. Joseph hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Additionally, Dr. Mueller practices one day per week in Ascension Wisconsin’s Primary Care Clinic in Racine, WI where he works under a collaborative practice agreement to manage the clinic’s Spanish-speaking patients’ medication therapy across several disease states. Dr. Mueller received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Portuguese studies as well as his PharmD. from the University of Minnesota. He then completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Mueller has several years of experience with using his Spanish language skills in the community, ambulatory, and hospital pharmacy practice settings, and is also a certified Spanish interpreter with Ascension WI. Dr. Mueller has taught Medical Spanish courses for pharmacy students for over 10 years. He is a board member of the National Association of Medical Spanish, the faculty advisor for a National Hispanic Pharmacists Association student chapter, and the founder and leader of American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s (AACP) Medical Spanish for Pharmacy Education Connect Community. He is the lead author of Spanish Conversation Guide Using the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process published through the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and is the co-author of an online Supplemental Workbook for the Spanish for Pharmacy Professionals textbook also published through APhA.
